I look out my window
And what do I see,
A world of happiness and joy
Kindness and glee.
The plants are healthy and fruitful
While the sky is fresh and clean,
And I am finally happy with my people
In all that I’ve heard and seen.
Centuries have flown by
Yet I am not old,
The world has changed from before
Now courageous and bold.
Machines are sometimes used for making
Electricity now powers the homes,
But the factories cough out black smoke
And my world cries and moans.
I wish the world were as it was before
Since it has become mean and spiteful over the years,
But I still keep my arms open for my children
And listen to their fears.
My people are selfish and cruel
While killing animals and polluting they fight,
Tearing down plant life and poisoning the waters
Destroying every light.
But I know there is someone out there
Who will send the world back to how it began,
Kindness will shine on the world again
Just like the powerful sun.
But for now I must keep searching
On and on and on,
And you must have faith and keep trying too
For you might be the one.
